One Mission

Woman-Raised. One Man. One Mission.

Today, I had a podcast interview with a friend of mine named Katie Nelson and it was such an insightful, thought-provoking and fun conversation that we had. The interview went longer than my normal standard of a one hour interview but the time just flew by because we were in the zone, we were having fun and just enjoying being in each other's space and energy. It was a beautiful energetic exchange and I actually learned quite a bit today through that conversation and one of those things was, what a 6-word story is.

For those of you who are like me and have no idea what a 6 word story is or where it comes from, let me break it down for you.

As legend would have it, the great literary Ernest Hemingway was challenged to write a short story using only six words. Ernest Hemingway's story? It was: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

A 6-word story is a very short piece of writing that tells a complete narrative or evokes a powerful emotion using exactly six words. It challenges you to be concise and creative, capturing a full idea, feeling, or moment in a tiny package.

I told my friend Katie at the end of our interview that I would challenge myself to write my very own 6 word story

Naturally, I was curious. I’m a storyteller at heart, so I sat with it, thinking... What’s my story, in six words? It honestly didn’t take long because it wasn’t about crafting something clever, it was about remembering who I am. I actually ended up crafting a few of them and then what I did was, I took parts from each of them and merged them together into one and here is what I came up with for MY 6 word story.

Woman-raised. One man. One mission.

I think and feel this completely and correctly encapsulates my 6 word story and who I am at my core, the true essence of who I am.

I was raised by women long before I ever understood what that truly meant.

It wasn’t just about who fed me, clothed me, or kept me alive, it was about the silent sacrifices, the resilience I witnessed in real time, the strength that showed up without needing to announce itself.

My mother walked away from a 15 year marriage and a man who didn’t honor her worth. My Nana filled that gap with quiet grace and unwavering love. Later in life, my daughters would become my greatest teachers, holding up mirrors I didn’t always want to face, but desperately needed.

I was woman-raised, and for a long time, I didn’t even know how much that shaped me but here’s what I’ve come to learn:

When you’re raised by women, truly witnessing their strength, their pain, their wisdom, their survival, it humbles you, It cracks you open, it challenges every distorted definition of masculinity you were taught and shapes who you become.

It calls you to do better, to be better! Not for applause but for alignment.

I spent years chasing validation, trying to perform worthiness instead of owning it. I wore confidence like a mask, but I wasn’t rooted, at least not yet.

It wasn’t until I started photographing women which then turned into starting the Empowerography Podcast and listening and I mean really listening to women’s stories that everything shifted.

Their pain woke me up, their stories of struggle and resilience inspired me and their power inspired the mission.

And now?

I’m one man.
With one mic.
On one mission:

I realize now over these past few years that I am here on this planet to amplify the voices that deserve to be heard, to hold sacred space without ego, to empathize, to ask questions and be curious, to respond with presence, to lead with love, not noise and to reflect the light I see in others, especially in women whose brilliance has too long been dimmed.

I’m not here to speak over anyone! I’m here to stand beside them and hand them the mic, because guess what??

When women rise, WE ALL rise.

Woman-raised. One man. One mission.
That’s not just a tagline, It’s my truth and my soul’s assignment:

🎙️ To amplify the voices of women.
🖤 To reflect truth, power, and humanity back to them.
🌍 To build a platform where women are not just heard — they are held, honored, and highlighted.

I’ve sat across from over 700 women.
Each one a chapter.
Each one a revelation.
Each one a reminder that empowerment isn’t taught — it’s remembered together.

Above all else, I’m just a man doing his best to walk in integrity and lead with love.

I would like to end with asking YOU....What’s your six-word story?
If you’ve never written one… start today.
It just might change everything.

I would love to hear from you and what YOUR six-word story is. If you need some help crafting it, just reach out, I would love to help you.
